The M1 chip was the first release in Apple’s move from using microchips produced by Intel to producing its own Silicon chips. The chip has received rave reviews for its incredible performance and efficiency, and it’s the culmination of more than a decade of work by Apple on chips initially created for the iPhone and the iPad.
